The Story Behind MindCastle Creations: From Diagnosis to Empowerment
MindCastle Creations started with a simple dream: to create a little more freedom in our wonderfully hectic, neurospicy lives.
My teen and I both have ADHD, so we know firsthand the rollercoaster of trying to stay organized. When he suggested making a diary, something clicked. At the same time, I had joined the Rainmaker Family Program to learn about selling on Amazon — and suddenly the puzzle pieces came together.
Who better to create ADHD-friendly tools than a family who truly gets the chaos (and the magic) of being neurospicy?
When I launched my first ADHD planner, I honestly didn’t expect the wave of messages, reviews, and stories that came in. People told me how it finally gave them structure without pressure, how it felt like the first planner that got them. That felt huge.
But then I looked at my own teen. Standard school planners? Total disaster. They were too rigid, too boring, too… not ADHD-friendly. Watching her try to use them was like giving someone with a food allergy a plate full of exactly the wrong thing. No wonder it didn’t work.
That’s when the idea hit me: students need their own version. Not a mini adult planner, not another school-issued agenda, but something that understands the chaos, creativity, and energy that comes with a neurospicy brain in a school setting.
Overcoming Challenges ..and Building a Castle One Brick at a Time..
Starting MindCastle wasn’t smooth sailing. In the early days, I lost my mom — and the world felt like it paused. Picking things back up after that was incredibly hard, and in many ways, MindCastle became part of my healing.
There were also plenty of logistical hoops. Living outside the U.S., I had to set up a U.S.-based brand, apply for a trademark, and even register as a U.S. business owner with the IRS. (Spoiler: not the most ADHD-friendly process.)
But each obstacle made me more committed to this mission — and to creating something that truly serves our community.
Creating Tools for a Neurospicy Life
ADHD isn’t something to “cure” or “fix” — it’s part of who we are. But we can build systems and tools that make life smoother, less overwhelming, and even fun.
That’s why MindCastle Creations exists: to provide practical, uplifting resources designed with ADHD brains in mind.
-
Planners & journals (so your 47 open tabs can finally find a home)
-
Affirmation cards (pep talks for the tough days)
-
Printables & workbooks (because sometimes you need instant structure)
Each tool is built around one goal: making ADHD-friendly support more accessible, helpful, and joyful.
Continuing the Journey .. and Learning Along the Way..
This whole project has been a journey of growth. Every product teaches me more about myself, my ADHD, and the amazing neurospicy community we’re building.
MindCastle Creations isn’t just a business — it’s a circle of people who share the little things that work, support each other through the tough bits, and celebrate the wins (big or small).
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: life with ADHD is a wild, unpredictable ride. But with the right tools, a sense of humor, and a supportive community, we can handle just about anything.
💖 Thanks for being here,
Kim
